Dear Doctoral Candidates,
As the date of the mid-term evaluation is approaching, on behalf of the Head of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, we provide you with the cover letter (Appendix 1a) regarding the mid-term evaluation and related documents.
We kindly inform you that the deadline for submitting documents necessary to conduct the mid-term evaluation, i.e.:
- the mid-term evaluation report on the implementation of the IRP, reviewed by the Supervisor or Supervisor (Appendix 2),
- a presentation on the results to date , together with a discussion on these results in correlation to the IRP (Appendix 3),
- confirmation scientific and/or artistic achievements and popularization achievements related to the implementation of the IRP,
- opinion of the Supervisor(s) on the progres of the Doctoral Candidate (Appendix 4)
is 30 January, 2024.
Both the mid-term evaluation report and the presentation must be prepared in English, with the exception of persons pursuing an implementation doctorate who can prepare the above-mentioned documents in Polish.
Documents in a paper version should be submitted in a folder to the IDS Office during the hours when the Office is open for Doctoral Candidates, and should be sent in an electronic version on the following e-mail address: isd@adm.p.lodz.pl.
According to the schedule (Appendix 5a), the mid-term evaluation will take place on February 19-23, 2024. The exact date and time of the mid-term evaluation will be communicated to you individually by email at a later date by the Mid-Term Evaluation Committee.
The composition of the Committees relevant for given disciplines will be made public (on the IDS TUL website) immediately after their members are appointed - by May 22, 2023.
The following criteria will be taken into account during the mid-term evaluation:
- the assessment of the timeliness of the implementation of the works related to the doctoral dissertation and its compliance with the Individual Research Plan,
- the assessment of progress in the implementation of the training programme,
- the assessment of the scientific and/or artistic achievements and popularizing achievements related to the IRP of the PhD candidate,
- the evaluation of the presentation prepared and delivered by the PhD candidate;
- the evaluation of the responses to the questions of the Mid-Term Evaluation Committee.

In the case of the articles published or accepted for publication (with a DOI number), after the deadline for submitting a complete set of documents necessary for the mid-term evaluation (after June 22, 2023), it is possible to provide the confirmation of publication of an article to the IDS Office by August 31, 2023. The above deadline applies only to the confirmation of the publication of the article.
